lvp architects

Who we are

lvp architects is a small architecture practice based in Cambridge, working mainly with homeowners on extensions, refurbishments, new homes and sensitive alterations to existing buildings.

We are interested in careful, well-considered design that improves everyday life, while responding to the character of each property, its setting, budget and practical constraints.

What matters to us

We believe good architecture does not always need to be large or complicated. Often, the most valuable changes come from understanding the existing building properly, improving the flow of spaces, bringing in better light, and making thoughtful decisions about materials and detail.

We enjoy working with clients who care about their home and want to make it better, whether the project is modest, complex, old, new, listed, or in a conservation area.

What we do

We can help with early design advice, feasibility studies, planning applications, Building Regulations information, technical drawings, tender information and support during construction.

Our role is to guide you through the process clearly, explain what is needed at each stage, and help develop a proposal that is both thoughtful and achievable.

How we do it

We start by listening carefully, reviewing the existing building and understanding what you would like to change.

From there, we explore ideas through sketches, drawings and discussion, before developing the design in more detail. Throughout the process, we aim to be clear about fees, budget, timescales and the information needed to move the project forward.

If you are thinking about altering, extending or improving your home, you are welcome to get in touch.

It is helpful to include the property address, a few photographs, any existing drawings if you have them, and a short description of what you would like to do. We can then advise on the most appropriate next step.
