At lvp architects, we’re excited to share the completion of our latest project — a beautiful home extension and reconfiguration at No.48. Our clients had a desire for a more open, connected spaces, and it’s been a pleasure to bring that to life.

Creating the Heart of the Home: Open-Plan Kitchen and Dining Area

The centerpiece of this transformation is the new open-plan kitchen and dining area. Designed with entertaining in mind, this space effortlessly blends functionality with style. The expansive layout is perfect for hosting gatherings, whether it’s a casual family meal or a larger celebration with friends.

With the arrival of warmer weather, the space truly shines. The bifold doors and large kitchen windows open fully, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. Their very young children can play freely, moving between the garden and the kitchen while remaining within sight — allowing parents to keep an eye on their little ones and ensuring that the fun doesn’t turn into too much mischief!

Design Details: Herringbone Flooring and Dark Green Kitchen Units

The design choices in this project are both bold and elegant. The stunning herringbone timber flooring runs throughout the space, adding a touch of timeless beauty. It not only grounds the room but also connects the different areas seamlessly.

One of the most striking features is the dark green kitchen base units. This choice of color creates a strong focal point, anchoring the space and offering a beautiful contrast to the lighter elements around it. The dark green adds depth and sophistication, turning the kitchen into a space that’s as stylish as it is functional.
